12 pairs of ribs are there in a human body. last two pairs are floating ribs, cause they are not attached to the sternum

There are 24 Ribs for an average human being have. Both Men and Women . 12 on each side. Each rib is attached with spinal bone ( thoracic vertebra ).....i hope it helps you
