How many pairs of vertebrochondral ribs are there?

There are 12 pairs. First 7 are true. They are connected through through their cartilage(costal cartilage) to sternum. Remaining 5 are false ribs. Last two are floating ribs, they are not connected anteriorly to sternum. 8,9 & 10 are joined to the higher cartilage they are also callers vertebrochondral ribs as they arise from vertebrae(vertebro) but do not join sternum but to a common cartliage(chondral). Hope this is clear. I had just read this stuff yesterday in my anatomy book.
