How many pairs x,y satisfy the equation 3x+6y=12 and 4x+8y=16?

Hi ,

1 ) 3x + 6y = 12

Divide each term with 3 , we get

x + 2y = 4 ---( 1 )

2 ) 4x + 8y = 16

Divide each term with 4 , we get

x + 2y = 4 --( 2 )

Therefore ,

( 1 ) and ( 2 ) are same equations ,

Shows coincident lines .

These lines has infinitely many solutions.
