1. Noun- A naming word
2. Pronoun- that comes in place of a noun
3. Verb- action or doing word
4. Adjective- describing word that describes noun and pronoun
5. Adverb- the word that modifies verbs, adjectives and adverbs
6. Proposition- shows the relation between words in a sentence or phrase
7. Conjunction- a joining word
8. Interjection- exclamation or sudden emotional utterance.
Note: Articles (a, an, the) are also included in the parts of speech but they are put under the category of adjectives.
