Total no. of parts in figure y= 9

Let the parts of fig y that is to be shaded be z,

ATP,

1/3 = z /9

z= (1/3)×9= 3

The parts that needs to be shaded in fig y = 3 (ANS)

hence the fraction becomes 3/9= 1/3 , which is same as the fraction of shaded part of fig x
