According to question, 2 pencils make loss of 1rs and 1 pen make profit of 1 rs
So by selling 25 pen he should have earned profit of 25 rs.
But he earned profit of only five rs so (25-5=20)he suffered 20 rs loss.. Thus, he sold 20*2=40 pencils that day...
