Given :- How many pieces of stone slabs each 24 cm long and 15 cm broad will be required to lay a path 18 m long and 12 m wide .?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • Area of rectangle = Length * Breadth .
  • 1 m = 100 cm.

so,

→ Area of path = L * B = (18*100 * 12*100) cm².

and ,

→ Area of 1 stone slab = L * B = (24 * 15) cm².

now, Let us assume that, n number of stone slabs are required to lay the path .

then,

→ Number of stone slabs * Area of 1 stone slab = Area of path

→ n * (24 * 15) = (1800 * 1200)

dividing both sides by 12,

→ n * 30 = 1800 * 100

dividing both sides by 30,

→ n = 60 * 100

→ n = 6000 (Ans.)

Hence, Total 6000 stone slabs are required to lay the path .
