There are a great many suffixes that go by the name of pratyaya in Sanskrit grammar, including a few that you might not even recognize as suffixes, but are treated as such by Pāṇini and the vyākaraṇa tradition. (Sometimes they are even placed before the base, so it might be more proper to call प्रत्ययs , but they are even more general.) They all have formal names in the metalanguage of the Aṣṭādhyāyī of Pāṇini, names from which it is not immediately transparent what the suffix actually is. (A modern linguistic grammar of Sanskrit might define them differently, but ultimately Sanskrit usage is so intimately tied to Pāṇini's system that there is no getting away from it.)
