In complexes I and III we see a transfer of four protons across the member per pair of electrons.

However in complex IV we see that two protons per pair of electrons are transported across the membrane of the mitochondria.

Also the two protons per pair of electrons are combined with oxygen gas O2 to form H2O.

Thus we see that four protons per pair of electrons are transported across the mitochondria.
