how many rainbows can we see at same time and why is the shape of rainbow semi circle only ?

Few people have ever claimed to see even three rainbows in the sky at once. Scientific reports of these phenomena, called tertiary rainbows, were so rare — only five were reported in 250 years — that until now many scientists believed they were as real as a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

We get an illusion as if the rainbow is in a semi-circular shape. A rainbow arc is a 42° angle starting from the direction opposite from the sun. (This is because the general angle of refraction is about 42°. Sometimes sunlight is reflected twice inside a raindrop.
