Area of rectangular tiles =10×7=70cm =0.7 m


Area of the floor
 = 14 \times 12\frac{1}{4}  \\  \\  = 14 \times  \frac{49}{4}  \\  \\  = 98 \:  {m}^{2}


no. of the tiles to cover the floor
 =  \frac{area \: of \: floor}{area \: of \: tiles}  \\  \\  =  \frac{98}{0.7}  \\  \\  = 140 \: tiles


hence 140 tiles is needed to cover the floor



cost of the tiles
according to 5 rupees per hundred tiles

 = 140 \times  \frac{5}{100}  \\  \\  = 7
