Answer:

area of a rectangular tile = length × breadth = 30 × 15 cm2 = 450 cm2

area of rectangular hall = 3.6 × 3 m2 = 360 × 300 cm2 = 10800 cm2

number of rectangular tiles required for rectangular hall = area of rectangular hall/area of rectangular time = 10800/450 = 24

24 is the answer

Given :

Hall size , tile size

To find :

How many rectangular tiles of size required

Solution:

rectangular hall of size 3.6mX3m

Tile Size = 30 cm * 15 cm

Number of tiles required = 3.6 * 100 * 3 * 100 / (30 * 15)

= 240  Tiles

= 12 * 20     or   24 * 10  ( depending on orientation of tile)

if 12 * 20  then 2 (12 + 20) - 4    as corner tiles are counted twice

= 60

if 24 * 10 then 2(24 + 10) - 4

= 64

rectangular hall of size 24mX15m

24 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 3

15 = 3 * 5

3 *3 can  be largest size
