let x/(x+1) = y
∴ 5[x/(x+1)]^2 - 4[x/(x+1)] - 1 = 0
= 5y^2 - 4y - 1 = 0
= 5y^2 -5y + y - 1 = 0
= 5y(y - 1) + (y - 1) = 0
= (5y + 1)(y - 1) = 0
(5y + 1) = 0 and ; (y - 1) = 0
y = -1/5 and ; y = 1
x/(x+1) = -1/5 and ; x/(x+1) = 1
5x = -x -1 and ; x = x+1
x = -1/6 and ; x = x+1 (not possible)
