The number of selection lines in 8-line-to-1-line multiplexer:
Multiplexer:
- Multiplexer is a circuit which is used to take several inputs which are in the binary numbers i.e., 0 or 1.
- In general multiplexer is in the form of :1, here n is the number of selection lines.
- Multiplexer is also written as MUX.
8-line-to-1-line multiplexer:
- This multiplexer can takes 8 input signals and outputs one signal.
- This output is generated based on the selection lines.
- It can be written as :1.
- By observation in 8:1 multiplexer n = 3.
- In 8:1 MUX we need to use 3 selection lines to select the output.
Hence the number of selection lines in 8-line-to-1-line multiplexer is 3.
