two shadows will be formed. the ball will block the path of a light of one torch and also block the path of light of another torch thus forming two shadows. a shadow is always formed when a path of light has been interfered or blocked by an object. when this happens, darkness occurs and this darkness is what is termed as the shadow. when one path of light has been blocked, one shadow will be formed. the same occurs when two paths have been blocked, two shadows will be formed.
