Cloth required to stitch one shirt =

2m 15cm

= 2 x 100 + 15 cm

  = 215cm

 Given, length of cloth =

40 m (1m=100cm)

= 40 x 100

 = 4000cm

Number of shirts that can be stitched and the cloth remains =  4000 ÷ 21                                                                                              = 18 + 130

   (i.e we get Quotient= 18, and remainder = 130)

Hope this helps!

Answer:

18 shirts

Step-by-step explanation:

Cloth required to stitch 1 shirt = 2.15m

Total Cloth = 40m

No. of shirts stitched = total cloth/cloth required for 1 shirt

= 40/2.15

= 18 ( remainder is 130 which implies that 130cm of cloth will be left )
