How many silkworm are required to prepare one silk saree ? How many threads can be optained from one silkworm ?

around 15 silkworms are normally sacrificed to produce a gram of silk yarn....u can now make a guess how much it takes for a silk saree ....A farmer of Andra Pradesh says it roughly takes 10,000 sacrifices of silkworms...it also takes 1700 - 2000 cocoons to make one single silk dress..!!
