Answer:

Number of sodium ions present in 1.06g of sodium carbonate is  1.20×10²²

Explanation:

sodium carbonate = Na₂CO₃

Atomic mass of Na = 23 g/mol

Atomic mass of Carbon = 12 g/mol

Atomic mass of Oxygen = 16 g/mol

∴ Molecular mass of sodium carbonate = 106 g/mol

Total number of moles in 1.06g sodium carbonate = \frac{given mass}{molar mass}

                                                                                    =\frac{1.06}{106}

                                                                                     = 0.01 moles

every sodium carbonate molecule has 2 sodium ions,

so, every mole of sodium carbonate will have 2 mole of sodium ions in it

∴0.01 mole of sodium carbonate has= 0.02 moles of sodium ions in it.

∴number of sodium ions present in 1.06g of sodium carbonate

                                                           = 0.02×6.022×10²³

                                                           = 1.20×10²² ions
