Question

How many solid cylinders of radius 10 cm and height 6 cm can be made by melting a solid sphere of radius 30 cm

Solution

The concept goes on solving such questions goes with volume

So we need to take the value of volume .

we are provided with

  • Radius of cylinder = 10cm
  • height of cylinder = 6m

____________________________

Finding volume :

 \red {volume \: of \: cylinder \:  =  \: \pi \:  \times  {r}^{2} \times h }

volume \: of \: cylinder \:  =  \:  \frac{22}{7}  \times  {r}^{2}  \times h \\  \\  = 113142.857

Again in the second case , we are provided with :

  • Radius of sphere = 30cm

______________________________

 \red{volume \: of \: sphere = \frac{4}{3}  \times \pi \times  {r}^{3} }

volume \: of \: sphere =  \frac{4}{3}  \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times  {30}^{3}  \\  \\  = 1885.71

using direct proportion , we get

cylinder \: can \: be \: made \:  =  \:  \frac{113142.857}{1885.71 }  \\  \\  = 60.001

Ignoring decimal , we can write :

{ \boxed {\red {\boxed{answer = 60}}}}

60 cylinders can be made by given data
