GIVEN:

Find whether the pair of linear equations

is consistent or inconsistent x+3y=5,

2x+6y=8

TO FIND :

The given pair of linear equations

x+3y=5, 2x+6y=8 is consistent or

inconsistent

SOLUTION:

Given equations are

x+3y=5

(1)

2x+6y=8

(2)

Multiply the equation (1) into (2) we get,-8=-10

8 / 10

Hence the given equations has no solutions.

.. the given pair of linear equations is inconsistent.
