How many square tiles each of side 0.5 m will be required to pave the floor of a room which is 3 m long and 6 m broad

side of square tile = 0.5 m

length of room = 3 m

breadth of room = 6 m

area of room = length × breadth

area of room = 3 × 6

                       = 18 m^{2}

area of one square tile = side × side

                                       = 0.5 × 0.5

                                       = 0.25 m^{2}

no. of tiles required = area of room / area of one square tile

                                 = 18 / 0.25

                                 = 72 tiles
