Question ::-

How many square tiles of 20 cm side will be required to fill in a rectangular hall of length 12 m and breadth 10 m ?

Given ::-

  • Side of square = 20 cm

  • Length of rectangle = 12 m

  • Breadth of rectangle = 10m

To find ::-

  • How many square tiles are required to fill rectangular hall ?

Solution ::-

• Side of square = 20 cm

Area of square = Side × side

Area = 20 × 20

Area = 400 {cm}^{2}

________

• Length of rectangle = 12 m

• Breadth of rectangle = 10m

Area of rectangle = length× Breadth

Area = 12 × 10

Area = 120 {m}^{2}

= 120 × 100

= 12000 {cm}^{2}

__________

= Area of rectangle / area of square

= 12000/400

= 30 tiles.

Hence, 30 tiles are required
