Given

  • Side of square tile = 2m
  • Length of room = 20m
  • Breadth of room = 12m

To Find

  • Number of tile to cover the floor

Solution

Side of square tile = 2m

Area of square tile = (Side)²

= (2)²

= 4m²

Length of room = 20m

Breadth of room = 12m

Area of room = L×B

= 20 × 12

= 240m²

Number of tiles = Area of room/Area of tile

= 240m²/4m²

= 60 tiles

∴ 60 tiles are required to cover the floor.
