Question :-

How many square tiles of side 30 cm will be required to cover a bathroom floor whose dimensions are 180 cm by 75 cm.

Solution :-

Measurements of bathroom-

Length = 180 cm,

Breadth = 75 cm

Area of Bathroom = Length x Breadth

Area of Bathroom = 180 cm x 75 cm = 13500 cm²

Measurements of tile-

Side = 30 cm

Area of one tile = side x side

Area of one tile = 30 cm x 30 cm = 900 cm²

Number of tiles required = \frac{Area\:\:of\:\:Bathroom}{Area\:\:of\:\:one\:\:tile}= \frac{13500\:cm^{2} }{900\:cm^{2} }= 15

Answer :-

Number of tiles of side 30 cm required to cover a bathroom floor whose dimensions are 180 cm by 75 cm are 15.
