We know that 1 ft = 12 inches

The given sides of Rectangle is

length = 4ft = 4×12 inch = 48 inch

breadth = 4 ft = 48 inches


So, the no. of squares needed to cover the rectangle will be


 \frac{area \: of \: rectangle}{area \: of \: square}


= (48 × 48)/ (0.5×0.5)

= 9216


So, 9216 squares will be needed to cover the rectangle.


So, (A) is correct.

As we know
1 foot =12 inches
4 squares of 1/2 will be 1 feet

=(4*16*4*16)/(1/4)
=10246
