How many stamps can be cut out form a rectangular sheets of size 125 cm x 25 cm if each stamps has a size 25 cm x 85 cm

Solution :

Dimensions of the Rectangular cut out :

Length ( L ) = 125 cm

Breadth ( B ) = 25 cm

Dimensions of the each stamp :

length ( l ) = 25 cm

breadth ( b ) = 85 cm

Number of stamps cut from the

cut out = n

n = ( L × B )/( l × b )

= ( 125 × 25 )/( 25 × 85 )

= 125/85

= 25/17

= 1.47

Therefore ,

Number of stamps made from the cut

out ( n ) = 1
