Explanation:

In our solar system, there is only one star that we know of – the sun! Our solar system is very unique in that is only has one star. Most other solar systems have at least two stars. They are the building blocks of galaxies, of which there are billions in the universe. It's impossible to know how many stars exist, but astronomers estimate that in our Milky Way galaxy alone, there are about 300 billion. For many years scientists have studied our own solar system. But until the last few years, we knew of no other solar systems. This may seem surprising, as the Sun is one of about 200 billion stars (or perhaps more) just in the Milky Way galaxy alone.
