There are 28 states and 9 union territories in India.On 9th Aug 2019 President signed on the bill of Jammu and Kashmir reorganisation bill.The Bill provides for reorganisation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir into the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh.
