Total Number of States in India are 29. The India has 7 Union Territories which includes the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Telangana is the newest state in India, which was formed on 2nd June 2014 with Hyderabad as capital. Andhra Pradesh has it's new capital as Amaravati(defacto) and Hyderabad(dejure)
