how many sulhpur atoms are present?
Answers
AnsWeR:-
In sulphur 8 atoms are present (i.e. S⁸)
And it's an octatomic molecule...
Stay rocking !!! xD.
Answer:
Your question needs a bit more information.
As mentioned in the previous answer, elemental sulfur is normally found in the form of S8. That’s a ring made of 8 sulfur atoms. I assume that’s what your question is asking.
… But as with most chemistry, the actual answer isn’t as simple as that! Like many elements, sulfur has multiple allotropes. Chemists have made rings of sulfur containing between 6 and 20 sulfur atoms., and that doesn’t include sulfur allotropes that they’ve observed but not isolated di, tri, tetra and pentasulfur. Under some very, very specific conditions you can even make forms of elemental sulfur that are metallic! Interesting stuff.
