how many term are identical in the two A.p. if each of the A.P. 3,5,7,and 4,7,10,....... is continued to 100 terms? ...

SOLUTION

If we write both the series upto few terms, 3+5+7+9+11+13+15+17+19+...

4+7+10+13+16+19+22+25+...

=It is noted that,

3rd,6th,9th,12th... terms of first series and 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th terms of second series are identical.

=But, one thing must be kept in mind that the last term of first series is going to be less than that of the last term of second series.

=so, the first series would end at the last identical term or a number next to it.

=so the no. of identical terms will be simply calculated as,

100/3= [33.33]= 33

Since the no. of identical terms will be an integer.
