It is a case of AP where

a = 101

AP formed is :- 101, 106, 111, 116........ 996.

Here d = 5

Sn = n/2 ( a + l )

so, we have to find 'n' first

an = a + ( n-1 ) d

996 = 101 + ( n -1 ) 5

996 = 101 + 5n - 5

996 - 101 + 5 = 5n

5n = 900

n= 900/5

n= 180

putting it in the formula ,

Sn = 180/2 ( 101 + 996 )

= 90 ( 1097 )

= 98,730
