Permutation and Combination

Given

There are three digits 3, 0 and 7.

To Find

Three digit numbers that can be formed with given digits without repetition.

Prerequisite Knowledge

A three digit number which starts from 0 is not a three digit number that is two digit number.

For instance, 045 is a two digit number not three digit number.

Solution

Assume 3 boxes at ones, tens and hundreds place.

At hundreds place we have two choices to fill in box that is 3 and 7 only because 3 digit number can't start from 0.

Assume that 3 is filled in hundreds place box.

Now, in tens place we have two choices only that is 0 or 7.

Let's assume 0 is filled in the box.

Now, we have only one choice to fill in ones place box that is 7.

So,

Now, from multiplication rule :-

2! × 2! × 1!

2 × 2 × 1

4

So, 4 numbers can be formed.

Answer

Numbers are :-
