how many tiles,each of length 8 cm and breadth 5 cm ,are needed to tile the floor of a dining space 400 cm long and 200 cm wide?

area of rectangle=l×b
area of tile =8×5=40cm
are of floor=400×200=8000
tiles needed for floor=8000/40=200
ans=200

first, we have to calculate the total area of the dining space, i.e. 400*200= 80000 square cms. The dimensions of one tile are given as 5cm and 8cm.
Hence area of 1 tile= 5*8=40 sq. cms.
Hence total tiles needed to tile the floor= 80000/40=2000.
