Given data : Tiles of length 12 cm and breadth 6 cm will be nedeed to fit in a rectangular area of length and breadth 96 cm and 39 cm respectively.

To find : How many tiles of will be nedeed to fit in a rectangular area.

Solution : According to given, let shape of tiles be rectangular.

Hence, length and breadth of tile according to given as follows :

→ length of tile = 12 cm

→ breadth of tile = 6 cm

Now,

→ Area of one tile = length * breadth

→ Area of one tile = 12 * 6

→ Area of one tile = 72 cm²

Let, area of one tile be x,

Hence x = 72 cm²

Now, length and breadth of rectangular area according to given as follows :

→ length of rectangular area = 96 cm

→ breadth rectangular area = 39 cm

Now,

→ Area of rectangular area = length * breadth

→ Area of rectangular area = 96 * 39

→ Area of rectangular area = 3744 cm²

Let, area of rectangular area be y

Hence, y = 3744 cm²

Now, to find number of tiles which needed to fit in a rectangular area.

→ Number of tiles = y/x

→ Number of tiles = 3744/72

→ Number of tiles = 52

Answer : Hence, 52 tiles are needed to fit in a rectangular area.
