Hi ,

Dimension of each square tile ,

a = 10cm

Dimensions of the surface ,

Length ( L ) = 4 m

L = 400 cm

Breadth ( B ) = 2.5 m = 250 cm

Let the number of tiles required = n

n = ( area of the surface )/ ( area of the each square tile )

n = ( LB ) / a²

= ( 400 × 250 ) / ( 10 × 10 )

= 1000

I hope this helps you.
