how many tiles whose lenght and breadth are 12cm and 5cm will be needed to cover a rectangular region whose length and breadth are respectively :i) 70cm and 36cm ii) 144cm and 1m ?​

area of 1 tile = l*b

                    =12*5

                     =60cm

i)70cm and 36cm

area of region = l*b

                        =70×36

                        =2520cm^2

no. of tiles required = area of region ÷ area of 1 tile -------->formula

∴no. of tiles =2520/60

                    =42 tiles

ii) 144cm and 1m

=144cm and 100cm [∵1m = 100cm]

area of region = l*b

                        =144×100

                        =14400cm^2

no. of tiles required = area of region ÷ area of 1 tile -------->formula

∴no. of tiles = 14400/60

                    =240 tiles
