Answer:

Area of tiles = 12× 5

=60

Area of rectangular region = 200× 144

= 28800

No. of tiles be needed = 60× 28800

= 1728000 ans.

We have:-

  • Dimension of rectangular room = 200 cm × 144 cm.
  • Dimension of the tile = 12 cm × 5 cm.
  • The tiles are needed to cover the floor.

What To FinD:-

  • No. of tiles needed?

Solution:-

Here,

No. of tiles needed:

\large\rm{ = \dfrac{Area \: of \: the \: floor}{Area \: of \: the \: tile} }

The floor and the tiles are in the shape of a rectangle. Hence, the area is given by: Length × Breadth.

Plugging them to find no. of tiles:

= 200 cm × 144 cm / 12 cm × 5 cm

= 40 × 12 tiles

= 480 tiles.

Therefore:-

The required no. of tiles needed to cover the entire rectangular floor is 480 tiles
