Given :

  • Length of Tile → 12 cm
  • Breadth of the Tile → 5 cm
  • Length of the rectangular region → 100 cm
  • Breadth of the rectangular region → 144 cm

To Find :

  • How many tiles needed to cover that area ?

Solution :

As we know the formula for finding area of Rectangle.

Lets find out the area of one tile.

For tile

  • Length → 12 cm
  • Breadth → 5 cm

Area of Tile → Length × Breadth

Substituting the values in it, we get :

Area = 12 × 5 = 60

Therefore, Area of tile is 60 cm²

Now,

For rectangular region

  • Length → 100 cm
  • Breadth → 144 cm

Area of rectanglular region = Length × Breadth

Substituting the values in it, we get :

Area = 100 × 144 = 14400 cm²

______________________________

Then,

No. of Tiles = Area of rectangular region / Area of Tile

So, we know

Area of Tile ➤ 60 cm²

Area of rectangular region ➤ 14400 cm²

No. Of Tiles ↬ 14400/60

No. of tiles → 240.

Hence, 240 Tiles needed.
