Given :-

(a). Area of the region = 100 × 144 = 14400 sq.cm

Area of one tile = 5 × 12 = 60 sq.cm

No. of tiles = Area of region

Area of 1 tile = 14400/ 60 = 240

Thus, 240 tiles are required.

(b). Area of region = 70 × 36 = 2520 sq.cm

Area of one tile = 5 × 12 = 60 sq.cm

No. of tile = Area of region

Area of 1 tile = 2520/60 = 42

Thus,42 tiles are required
