Area of one tile = 12 x 5 = 60 cm^2
Area of rectangular region = 100 x 144 = 14400cm^2
Number of tiles = Area of rectangular region/ Area of one tile
= 14400/60 = 240
Number of titles = 240 tiles.
Hope this helps :-)
Area of rectangular region = 100 x 144 = 14400cm^2
Number of tiles = Area of rectangular region/ Area of one tile
= 14400/60 = 240
Number of titles = 240 tiles.
Hope this helps :-)

Hi friend,
First calculate the area of tile then floor.
Length of one tile=12cm
Breadth of one tile=5cm
Area of one tile=L*B
=12*5
=60cm^2
Length of the rectangular region=100cm
Breath of the rectangular region=144cm
Area of the rectangular region=L*B
=100*144
=14400cm^2
Then divide them to see how many tiles are needed to cover the floor=Area of rectangular region/area of tile
= 14400/60
=240
Hence,240 tiles are needed to cover the rectangular region with tiles.
