Answer: Area of a rectangle = length x breadth                                              So, Area of rectangular reason = 140 cm x 72 cm

                                                      = 10080 sq cm

and area of tiles = 12 cm x 5 cm

                            =  60 sq cm

So, Tiles needed to cover rectangular reason = 10080 sq cm / 60 sq cm

                                                                               = 168

168 Tiles are needed to cover a rectangular reason.

Answer:

Given,

Length of rectangle = 140

Breadth of rectangle = 72

Area of rectangle = l*b

= 140*72

= 10080

Dimensions of tile = 12,5

Area of tile = l*b

= 12*5

= 60

No of tiles required = Area of rectangle / Area of tile

= 10080/60

= 168
