QᴜᴇsᴛɪᴏN:-

How many tiles whose length and breadth are 13 cm and 7 cm respectively are needed to cover a rectangular region whose length and breadth are 520 cm and 140 cm ? ‌

AɴsR:-

800 tiles will be needed to cover the rectangular region

 \\

ExᴘʟᴀɴᴀᴛɪᴏN:-

Given:-

  • Length and Breadth of each rectangular tile are 13 cm and 7 cm

  • Length and Breadth of rectangular region are 520 cm and 140 cm

To find:-

How many tiles will be needed to cover the rectangular region ?

Solution:-

As we know that,

\underline{\boxed{\sf {Area\:of\:rectangle=(length × breadth)}}}

Area of each tile = (l × b)

= (13 × 7) cm²

= 91 cm²

Area of rectangular region = (l × b)

= (520 × 140) cm²

= 72800 cm²

Now,

Number of tiles = \sf{\dfrac{72800}{91}}

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ = 800

Therefore, 800 tiles will be needed
