How many times is the volume of a cube edge of which measures 36 cm equal to the volume of a cuboid measuring 12cm × 9cm × 6cm?

\dag\:\underline{\sf Answer:-} \\

About the cube:-

Given:-

  • Edge of the cube = Side of the cube = 36 cm

To find:-

  • Volume of the cube

Solution:-

Volume of cube = (side)³

                           = (36)³

                           = 46656 cm³

About the cuboid:-

Given:-

  • Dimensions of the cuboid = 12 cm × 9 cm × 6 cm

To find:-

  • Volume of cuboid

Solution:-

Volume of cuboid = length × breadth × height

                              = lbh

Volume of the cuboid = 12 × 9 × 6

                                     = 648 cm³

We are asked to find out by what times is the volume of the cube equal to that of the cuboid.

             = \frac{Volume \: of \: cube}{Volume \: of \: cuboid} \\= \frac{46656}{648} \\= 72

∴ the volume of the cube is greater than th volume of the cuboid by 72 times.
