In year 2018, 11,48,235 candidates registered for the state services exam and out of which 8,59,489 candidates appeared for the examination.
As per the UGC norms, only 6 percent students are allowed to clear the examination but that year 6.5 percent student cleared it.
The 0.5 percent of candidates were eligible for jobs than required numbers of post.
This means that the government has deficit in terms of providing employment to the eligible candidates.
