let the side of the square be x.
area=side×side
=x×x
=x²
and if it's doubled then the side will be 2x.
area=side×side
=2x×2x
=4x²
no. of times the area increased if it's side is doubled=4x²/x²
=4
4 times it increased.
if it's tripled then it's side will be 3x.
area=side×side
=3x×3x
=9x²
no. of times area increased if it's side is tripled=9x²/x²
=9
hence, 9 times it's area increased if it's side is tripled.
