The primary deck of 52 playing cards in use today and includes thirteenranks of each of the four French suits, diamonds ( ), spades (♠), hearts (♥) and clubs (♣), with reversible Rouennais "court" or face cards (some modern face card designs, however, have done away with the traditional reversible figures).

There are 52 cards. (26+26:blk and red respectively)
They are further divided into 4 suits as : spade, club ( of black colour) and heart, diamond ( of red).
That means 13 cards each for these 4suits.
The 13 cards in each are as :-
A(ace), K(king), Q(queen), J(jack), 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2.
There are 12 face cards.... #King #queen #jack (each of 4) i. e. 4*3=12.
(K, J, Q are called face cards).
