Answer:

There are 5 types of chemical reactions are :-

Combination:-

When two or more elements or one element and one compound or two or more compounds combine to give one single product is called as combination reaction.

Example:-

Reaction of calcium oxide in water to form calcium hydroxide

                          CaO + H2O  → Ca(OH)2

Decomposition:-

Splitting of a compound  into two or more simple products  is called as decomposition reaction. Decomposition reaction is the opposite of combination reactions.

Example:-

On heating, lead nitrate decomposes into lead monoxide, nitrogen dioxide and oxygen.

                2Pb(NO3)2 → 2PbO + 4NO2 + O2

Displacement:-

When in a reaction a more reactive metal displaces a less reactive metal, then it is called as displacement reaction.

Example:-

Reaction between iron and copper sulfate to produce iron sulfate and copper:

                      Fe + CuSO4→ FeSO4 + Cu

Double displacement:-

The Reactions in which ions are exchanged between two reactants for forming new compounds are called double displacement reactions.

Example:-

   CuSO4 (aq) + 2 NaOH (aq) →Na2SO4 (aq) + Cu(OH)2 (s)

Redox:-

A chemical reactions where oxidation and reduction both take place simultaneously are also known as redox reaction. The element oxidized is the one whose oxidation number increased.

Example:-

                          NaOH + HCl ⇒ NaCl + H2O

There are mainly 5 types of Chemical Reactions.

1) Combination Reaction

Combination reactions are those reactions in which two or more substances combine with each other to form a new single substance.

Example - 1)Mg + O2 -> MgO

2) H2 + O2 -> H2O

2) Decomposition reactions

Decomposition reactions are those reactions in which a compound splits up into two or more simpler substances.

Example - 1) CaCO3 -> CaO + CO2

2) H2O -> H2 + O2

3) Displacement Reactions

Displacement reactions are those reactions in which one element displaces another element in a compound.

Example - CuSO4 + Zn -> ZnSO4 + Cu

Here, Zinc displaces Copper since Zinc is more reactive that copper.

4) Double Displacement Reaction

Those reactions in which two compounds react by an exchange of ions to form two new compounds are known as Double Displacement reactions.

Example - 1)AgNO3 + NaCl -> AgCl + NaNO3

2) NaOH + HCL -> NaCL + H2O

5) Redox Reactions

Redox reactions are those type of reactions which involves transfer of electrons by gaining or losing an electron. It involves both Oxidation and Reduction in chemical reaction.

Example - Cu + AgNO3 -> Cu(NO3)2 + Ag

It's a double displacement reaction and also a redox reaction. Copper gets oxidized in this case and Silver gets reduced.
