Hello friend!!
There are four types of coal.
1. Anthracite: it has carbon content of 80-90% and burns leaving behind a little ash.
2. Bituminous: it has carbon content of 60-70% and is used for domestic purpose.
3. Lignite: It has carbon content of less than 55%. It is inferior to Bituminous.
4. Peat: It has a carbon content of below 40%.
It is the worst quality of coal, leaving behind huge amount of smoke and ash.
Coal is a conventional energy resource which is used to generate energy...
Thanks.

There are 4 types of coal :
a)Peat - It is an inferior type of coal. Ot is the first stage in coal formation with the lowest carbon content (50-60%).
b)Lignite - It also has low carbon content (60-70%), so cannot generate much electricity.
c)Bituminous - It is the most widely used coal type with a much greater carbon content (70-85%). It is mainly used in iron and steel industries.
d)Anthracite - It with the highest carbon content (85-90%) is the best variety of coal.
