Two types or kinds of colloid are found naturally in nature. These are -

1. Hydrophilic Colloids

The type colloids which gets attracted towards water are called hydrophilic colloids. These colloids loves water. Examples includes : Gelatin, Pectin, Agar, etc.

2. Hydrophobic Colloids

These are the colloids which tends to stay away from water molecules. Water repels the particles of such colloids. Examples includes : Particles of clay, sols of Gold, etc.
